Workstation View

Administrator's can set options about how and what data is collected during a network inventory, where data is stored and more.

1. General Tab - If computers are running Windows NT, 2000 or XP operating systems, no client installation of CI Discovery is required to perform an audit. All you need is a User ID and Password that allows access to the computers to be audited. This is typically a domain administrator's ID but it can be any ID with the proper access privileges. Then select the workstations that you wish to audit from the Network View, and click a button to begin the audit process.

CI Discovery software can scan your networked computers and provide an inventory of workstations and servers to be audited.

2. License Tab - Manage your CI Discovery product license through this tab.

3. Audit Options Tab - Under this tab, you can select the format for how your audit data is saved. If you uncheck the encryption box, data is saved as a plain text file. To keep audit data secure, check the box to select data encryption. You can also select whether you want a full scan of all exe's and dll's. This option is generally selected for troubleshooting purposes because it captures details such as "versions of dll's". Audits performed in full scan mode take longer to run and the data file is much larger. When the box is left unchecked audits are performed considerably faster and application data is still collected.

CI Discovery software can scan your networked computers and provide an inventory of workstations and servers to be audited.

4. Directories Tab - This tab allows you direct where audit data is stored. Designate an "In Box" where audit data should be located when new audit data is received and designate an "Out Box" for file storage after audit data has been imported into the central database.
